First Sunday Folk Club & Folk at the Ferry
Sunday Folk Clubs in North Yorkshire
Two different folk clubs, in two different villages, two different Sundays, but both presenting the rich folk life of Northern England. Both folk clubs are singers' and musicians' evenings presenting a high standard of songs, music, and poetry from a wide range of sources. Several performers write and perform their own material, and the range of music covers traditional unaccompanied folk songs through to guitar and mandolin accompanied songs from all eras; 20th century hits, and songs that have recently been written. The uilean pipes come out on special occasions, and the D whistle, flute, recorders and bodhran can all be enjoyed leading the music, or enhancing the singing.
